Charity tweet for missing children

Members of the celebrity Twitterati are to join a campaign to help find missing children.

Celebrities including Stephen Fry, Lord Sugar, Lorraine Kelly and Katie Price are taking part in the charity Missing People's Big Tweet for Missing Children on May 25, International Missing Children's Day.

On the day, the charity will tweet a different appeal for a missing child every 30 minutes for 24 hours and encourage their followers to retweet as many as possible.

Stephen Fry, a patron of Missing People said: "A staggering 130,000 children go missing in the UK every year.

"On International Missing Children's Day, I will once again join the charity Missing People in harnessing the power of Twitter to help find missing children via The Big Tweet for Missing Children. You can take part too by retweeting the appeals for missing children that the charity will tweet every 30 minutes."

Martin Houghton-Brown, chief executive of Missing People, said: "If your child went missing, wouldn't you want the world to stop and look for them?

"With the Big Tweet for Missing Children, we are building a dedicated community of people across the UK who have joined the search and are helping to bring missing children to safety."

The charity is also launching a new hotline - 116000 - to call or text for support for people who may be missing, or whose loved ones are missing. The launch is being funded by financial group ICAP.

On International Missing Children's Day the charity will also be working with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) and the charity Parents and Abducted Children Together (Pact) to launch a new Missing Kids website.

Lady Catherine Meyer, founder and chief executive of Pact said: "Utilising Twitter in this unique way, along with the new Missing Kids website and the new 116000 hotline number, means the sheer momentum of cutting-edge social media will be behind the search for every missing child."

The last time Katie Price went on a spontaneous holiday to Las Vegas, she ended up married to a cagefighter.

So, you can imagine what kind of conclusions we immediately jumped to when we saw that the reality star was in Sin City once again, this time with Leandro Penna who she recently got engaged to.

But let’s not jump the gun here, judging by this snap posted by Leandro on Twitter the pair are just having fun in the city with their pals. Then again anything is possible in the world of Jordan so let’s not dismiss the idea entirely.

Mind you, since Katie has already done the whole Vegas wedding thing, we’d like to think that for her next nuptials she’d have something slightly more original up her wizard’s sleeve. Beach wedding perhaps? She hasn’t done that yet has she? To be honest we can’t be entirely sure anymore.

What husband is she on again?

Katie Price has described her emotions when she first discovered that her gorgeous son Harvey had multiple disabilities.

Harvey – now nine – has septo-optic dysplasia, which has affected his eyesight, as well as behavioural problems, autism and mobility difficulties. Katie has dedicated her life to her first child, fighting to give Harvey the best opportunities and funding multiple projects to ensure her son – and children like him – have the perfect environment in which to learn.

In the interview with Enable magazine, Katie was asked how she felt when she realised Harvey was disabled. She said: “Devastated. This beautiful looking boy in my arms that couldn’t see, move much or eat...

“I was worried about the future, but with the support of my family, like others who have gone through this too, you get through it and the pessimistic view can become optimistic... gradually.”

Katie,33, explained that, as a parent of a disabled child, it’s important to not just accept what the doctors say, but fight their decisions and keep exploring the options to find the best treatment possible.

She said: “After support from other parents in the same position as me with their children, they gradually gave me the courage to question the doctors. You become a kind of expert, then you ask for more support. You realise you have to push for everything for your wonderful child. This never stops and never will stop. My son is entitled to the best I can offer him and this is the same for every parent of a disabled child – it’s their entitlement.

“Don’t just sit there and accept what is offered to your child, get together with other parents and fight.”

Katie explained that she has now submitted an application to create a new Academy for Harvey and his classmates after they had to leave their current school – which was designed to maximise their ability to learn – because they are too old.

She said: “Having disabilities is hard enough, let alone going to another school starting with new children. Harvey has known his classmates since he was a year old. We want to cater to visually impaired children and young people who also have special needs aged between five and 16. After this age we want to ensure these pupils can continue to remain in contact and meet each other so we intend to set up a club for them too. After leaving school these children are often forgotten. With us they won’t be.”

Katie hopes to open the school in September 2013 – and will consider opening more if it is a success – so she “needs to get a move on”.

When she arrived in Las Vegas two days ago without her fiancé by her side everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Katie Price, who wed second husband Alex Reid in Sin City, couldn't have been planning another U.S. wedding - until now.

The 33-year-old star was joined by Leandro Penna yesterday, but rather than rush to the nearest chapel, the pair spent most of the day lazing around the hotel swimming pool.

Planning a wedding? Fans will be wondering if Price is planning on tying the knot with the Argentinian while in Las Vegas

Price, who arrived in Las Vegas with her reality show camera crew in tow, is no doubt hoping to capture the fun she will be having Stateside with her younger beau.

The mother-of-three looked happy and relaxed as she soaked up the sun, but rather than show off her bikini body, Price kept a loose white vest on at all times and even put on a pair of blue jogging bottoms.

However, her zebra-print bikini top was visible through the printed vest and the former glamour model teamed it with a pair of large sunglasses.

Penna, on the other hand, was keen to show off his toned physique and wore a pair of light-coloured swimming shorts and he frolicked by the pool.

He was later seen jumping in the water to cool down, and then drying himself off as Price and her female friends looked on.

Although she has been back once since, Price's main association with Vegas will be the location for her second wedding to Reid.

The pair tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in the wedding chapel at the Wynn Hotel in February 2010 after a whirlwind six month romance.

Their divorce was only finalised in March this year - over a year after Price left the cagefighter at 11 months of marriage.

She jetted out to Sin City after filming a celebrity edition of Deal Or No Deal with Noel Edmonds.

Price and Penna announced their engagement three weeks ago after a rocky one year on/off courtship.

They originally started dating in March 2011 after meeting at Sir Elton John's post-Oscar party.

But by September last year, the couple had split, blaming language difficulties.

However, in January this year, the pair were spotted back together.

Price's spokesperson confirmed at the time: 'They're engaged. Leandro proposed to Katie while they were away skiing recently - and she said yes.'

As we were saying earlier, let’s not jump to conclusions and assume that Katie Price is going to marry her fiancé Leandro Penna while in Las Vegas where they’ve just jetted for a holiday.

Instead, let’s take a look at these heart-warming pictures of the two when they went on another holiday very recently to celebrate their engagement.

In the pics the two soon-to-be married (possibly in Vegas) lovebirds are seen cuddling up during a safari trip in Africa, and of course Jords couldn’t resist having an obligatory flash of her engagement ring to the cameras at the same time.

We think your sentiments on the gem can be aptly summed up by the words of one of our colleagues who looked at these pictures and said:

“That ring really is something else.”

And if you needed us to clarify – they weren’t saying that in a good way. In fact we’re sure they spat a bit as they said it.

Erm, is Amy Childs very slowly turning into her idol Katie Price? We only ask because this pose and set-up looks suspiciously like something Jordan would do. Excess flesh on show? Tick. Lots of spangly crystals? Tick. Bad wig? Tick!

Alas, no, Amy hasn't set herself up as a Jordan impersonator. She's actually promoting her hair vajazzles range! Yep, hair vajazzles. We thought the whole reason vajazzles were called VAjazzle was because the crystals go on, well, your vagina?! So shouldn't a hair one be called a hairjazzle?!

Katie wore a striking pair of leggings teamed with black boots for her journey from the UK.

Up top she flashed her famous cleavage in a low-cut vest, finishing off the look with a studded leather jacket and shades.

Despite pulling her own hand luggage, the pin-up was accompanied by an airport escort who pushed a trolley loaded with three stuffed suitcases.

Her visit to Vegas will fuel rumours she’s to become the latest celebrity to tie the knot there, though Katie’s said to be planning a winter wedding with her Argentinian man.

Last summer, the busty model insisted she’d never get hitched again after two failed marriages to Peter Andre and Alex Reid, respectively.

But that all changed in April when she accepted Leandro’s proposal and prepared to wed for the third time in as many years.

It’s claimed Katie has her heart set on a Christmas ceremony.

A source revealed: “She's been telling people she wants to have the ceremony at her West Sussex home over Christmas with a huge marquee outside.

“She's only in the very early stages of talking about it but at the moment she's getting really excited about the festive idea.

“She's set her sights on ordering a Christmas tree larger than the one in Trafalgar Square.

“Her horses will be white with pink antlers, while her boys Harvey and Junior will be dressed as elves. And her daughter Princess will be dressed as a snow angel.”

But her upcoming nuptials have done little to temper Katie’s wild side.

At the weekend she attended Danielle Lloyd’s hen do in Liverpool, frolicking with the glamour girl on the dance floor and planting a smacker on her lips.
