Katie Price has done something truly shocking – she’s won a live debate at Cambridge University.

That’s right, you read that correctly. The 33-year-old glamour model defied all odds yesterday to win a highbrow debate at the famous university’s union, which has previously held discussions with the likes of US President Ronald Reagan and Prime Minister Winston.

Price was debating against Boris Johnson’s younger sister Rachel, editor of The Lady, and journalist Liz Jones as she opposed the motion: ‘This house believes the only limit to female success is female ambition.’

And despite forgetting her lines and at times appearing to struggle with reading her notes, the topless model went on to receive a loud cheer for the Cambridge Union at the end of her ten-minute speech.

Speaking about the idea of female success, Price told the Cambridge students that her motto is: ‘There is no such thing as can’t, because I can.’

In responce to Price’s attempts, Johnson made some narky comments about the model’s career, saying: ‘The sky is the limit or in your case a ten part series on Sky called Katie.’

Ms Johnson then added: ‘Katie Price’s novels are for real lovers of literature.’

Still, the last laugh was on Price as she was revealed to be the winner of the debate.

Before the event, President of the Cambridge Union, Katie Lam, explained her decision to invite Price to speak. She said: ‘I decided to invite Katie Price because she’s a prominent public figure who is very popular among and represents the aspirations of a large number of women and girls in the UK, and I thought her perspective would be a valuable one to add to the debate.’

After returning from her recent jaunt to America it was business as usual for Katie Price.

The glamour model was at Olympia today for The London International Horse Show.

Katie was unveiling her new collection for KP equestrian range.

The 33-year-old, who was also showing off a new shade of blonde, was dressed casually in a tracksuit from her own collection.

She was wearing a black jacket with a pink lined color and matching black bottoms.

The tanned celebrity met fans and signed autographs after posing with some items from her collection.

Katie, who is a keen horse rider, was happy to meet her supporters and posted a message on Twitter.

She said: ‘great seeing many of you at olympia today!! x’.

The reality TV star will also be at the event tomorrow to continue promoting her new range but will not be taking part in the actual competition.
Price first became interested in horses when she worked as a stable girl many years ago.

Now she combines her passion for fashion with her hobby and makes equestrian clothing.

The glamour girl, who recently ditched her Argentinian toyboy Leandro Penna, was seen making her way out of his pad in London with two attractive women.

And it looked as though the evening had been thirsty work for Katie, 33, as she glugged down a bottle of water on her way out.

The mum-of-three was wearing a T-shirt reading “You and me”, which she teamed up with a pair of animal print leggings and black knee-high boots.

The Sun revealed earlier this month how Katie had spent a night of passion with Kelly Brook’s 23-year-old ex.

They were photographed together on the doorsteps of a pal’s home after spending the night together.

She later made it clear the romance was nothing serious, tweeting: “I’m gonna enjoy being single and just go on dates woooo and stay away from relationships for once.”

But during a talk at the Oxford Union last week she hinted at her latest conquest by saying she “loved” rugby players, adding “I love the big thighs and big forearms”.

Her romance with Danny angered her love rival Imogen Thomas, 28, who had enjoyed a fling with him over the summer.

She branded him a “bull*******” and an “absolute liar” after hearing about his rendezvous with twice-married Katie.

Katie Price has split from her Latino lover Leandro Penna – days after he *publicly *declared they would marry.

The model, 33, yesterday *announced through friends that the seven-month relationship is over after the pair found it impossible to deal with their *language barrier.

It follows a succession of rows *ending with a “heartfelt and frank” conversation through a translator this week. Both agreed it would be best for Leandro, 25, to move out of Katie’s home and go back to Argentina.

A source revealed: “It’s over. The truth is Leandro was homesick and felt isolated being in the UK without any of his friends or family.

“He also wasn’t working at all and was just under Katie’s feet as she *carried on with her life and career.

“He decided it would be a good idea to return to Argentina and see his family, and try to get work. She agreed it was probably for the best.

“He doesn’t speak good English, she’s been busy on book and magazine *signings across the country and he’s bored out of his mind. It’s sad – but it was for the best that he goes home.”

The announcement will surprise Katie’s fans given that the relationship appeared to be blossoming. Leandro said earlier this week: “She’s the woman I love and want to protect and care for.”

BICKERING

Asked about marriage, he said: “Yes, we have a project of a family. If *tomorrow we marry it’s because we feel right.”

But sources revealed last night how the split has been building for weeks with the couple bickering constantly.

Katie realised Leandro was unhappy after his parents visited him in the UK last month. He travelled with them to New York then extended his trip to visit his brother in Miami.

In Miami on Friday, before leaving for Argentina, the lonely TV game-show model was spotted on a shopping trip where he appeared to be looking at gifts for Katie.

He looked at a thigh-high leopard-print boot that would have suited Katie’s alter ego Jordan perfectly. He also checked out a dress, apparently to see if it would fit a large-busted woman.

Back in London Katie was partying at Aldo Zilli’s Soho restaurant for model Lauren Pope’s birthday. She then went out with friend Maddy Ford to the Botanist restaurant in Sloane Square.

Last night she was due at a dinner to celebrate the birthday of her best friend, make-up artist Gary Cockerill.

A member of Katie’s camp confirmed the split yesterday, saying: “It’s not great timing with her new TV show about to launch but both Kate and Leandro needed to be happy and that meant going their separate ways.”

The couple, who met in February at Sir Elton John’s Oscars party, split during a tearful phone conversation earlier this week in which Leandro told Katie how he felt through a translator.

“Leandro decided it was time to take a break,” the source added. “And Katie didn’t disagree. He used a translator to tell Katie how he felt on the phone and said he thought it best he return home.

“He’s bored with living in the shadow and wants to find work and make a life for himself.

“Katie knew in her heart that it was coming. She’s being very adult about the split and says she didn’t see it as a long-term relationship that would lead to marriage and kids. But she will miss him. The language barrier was ultimately the problem for them.”

Leandro was making little progress in his intense course of English lessons.

But Katie, whose Sky Living HD TV show Signed starts at the end of the month, told the Sunday Mirror two weeks ago that they were still using the Google Translate website to *understand each other’s texts. And friends say the mum-of-three is *relieved things have come to an end.

“She genuinely thought there could be something special with Leandro,” said the source. “But as time went on she *realised it wasn’t a great love. As much as she’s sad she knows it’s *probably the right thing to do. Saying that, she’s not great at being single. She still wants to find the one.”

In her recent interview with the *Sunday Mirror, Katie said how pleased she was Leandro was getting on so well with her children Harvey, nine, Junior, five, and Princess Tiaamii, three.

Katie said: “I’m having the best time with Leo. He’s *fantastic with the kids.”

She also hinted that all might not be what it seemed with her latest man. She said: “I’m not sure if Leandro is the next guy. Only time will tell.

“I’m always like, ‘this is great’. But look what happened with Alex. I can tell you this – if I have a baby I want to be married and do it all properly this time around.”

Katie met Leandro after divorcing Alex Reid, 36. She had started seeing the cross-dressing cage-fighter in 2009, eight weeks after the end of her marriage to singer Peter Andre, 38.

They were married days after Alex had won the hearts of the nation by triumphing in Celebrity Big Brother.

A friend said : “It’s a *disappointment for Katie that another relationship has bitten the dust. It’s another man who she loved and introduced the children to but there’s no point in staying with a man if he’s not making you happy.”

Katie Price’s production company Pricey Media has signed a first look deal with distributor All3Media International.

The agreement will initially give All3 the rights to sell four of the indie’s Sky Living series, including the forthcoming show Signed by Katie Price, which will see the former glamour model find new talent.

As well as distributing the completed show, the format Signed by… – the first to come from Pricey’s merger with Rain Media earlier this year – will be made available to international partners.

All3 will also secure access to other programmes on the company’s slate, which will branch out from the focus on Price and be announced later this year.

“Pricey Media has accomplished an incredibly slick slate of programming over the last two years, proving themselves to be accomplished producers in the factual entertainment and observational arena,” said Louise Pedersen, managing director of All3Media International.

Other completed shows in the deal include 2 x 60-minute I am Alex Reid, 8 x 60-minute Katie and one-off Katie Price: Standing up for Harvey.

She’s already one of the most photographed women in Britain – so surely Katie Price could have let the models have the limelight just this once.

But 33-year-old took centre stage while launching her new collection from her fashion line Day 22 today.

As well as a question-and-answer session with the audience, the glamour model strutted the catwalk alongside her models to show off the clothes.

And while the girls can be seen in tracksuits and more casual attire, Katie opted for a tight-fitting leopard print dress.

The collection, called SS12, was on show at the Pure London trade exhibition, in the young fashion section, Pure Spirit in Earls Court.

Earlier she tweeted her excitement about the upcoming show.

‘On way to earls court 2 for my day 22 wooo hooo,’ she said, before adding: ‘so exciting’.

And when all the fun was over, she treated her children to a feast at McDonalds.

She tweeted: ‘Finished on way home stopping at mac Ds yummie excited kids home later gonna squeeze so much love into them with cuddles.’

The website describes the collection as: ‘Bright girly tones, beautiful soft fleece fabrics, vibrant prints, motifs and styles that are comfortable’.

It adds: ‘Day 22 has been designed to appeal to a board range of females. The range is fresh and forever changing in shapes with new limited edition designs added every month.’

Katie launched the label in February. She was seen promoting the brand last week, wearing a bright pink tracksuit from the collection while hitting the streets of Brighton with her mother Amy.

Talking about the range recently, Katie said: ‘I have really enjoyed developing this brand with Lamis.

‘We named it Day 22 as on the 22nd of each month we will be adding new pieces to the collection including clothes, bags, sunglasses and shoes.’
